1990年代に中華圏以外のアジアでもヒットした日本の歌といえば、まず中島みゆきの『ルージュ』ですが、マッチの『夕焼けの歌』もなかなかでした。どちらもまず香港で広東語カバーが大ヒットし、北京語や台湾語でもカバーされて中華圏に広がり、ベトナム語や英語、タイ語などのカバーも出たという次第。92年のベトナム語版(sm24311603)はKenny TháiとÝ Nhiのデュエットで、アメリカの旧南ベトナム亡命コミュニティの歌なのでサビの部分が英語でしたが、じゃあ全部英語にしてしまえとリンダ・チャン・ダイ（Lynda Trang Dai）が歌ったのが「There's Only You In My Heart」。リンダは南ベトナムのダナン生まれですが、ベトナム戦争終結後にアメリカへ亡命し、「ベトナムのマドンナ」と称するシンガーらしいです。
